No, Its not free. Its much like the same as in Cable TV, Satellite TV and Direct TV did have a “set top boxes,” You have to subscribe to its service provider in order to use the receiver and watch some TV program. Therefore you have to pay a monthly or yearly fee for it. You can only watch a free TV program by using your computer that is connected to internet, then connect your computer to TV or big screen.

I am going to start by saying IPTV is strictly “layer 2″ IP technology, Which means it is Exclusively provided over a private network often by your Internet provider, a telephone / DSL or fiber optic-based provider, and sold very much like any other Cable or satellite TV service. Many people confuse with IPTV Internet TV delivered, Which IPTV is not. With that, you have to subscribe to your phone provider to get IPTV service, and use the box they provide. In the U.S., it is common to only rent the box, but you can commission to Xbox 360 for some IPTV providers use Which media room from Microsoft. In Canada, sometimes providers “sell” the boxes for a token fee. It is not a box you go and buy Connnect to your internet service, and there is programming. That may be the case with Internet TV boxes such as a Roku, Boxee, or Apple TV, Which all of those use the public “Layer 3″ to access Internet content. In some cases, free content is available on them.
